A slimline card

Here is another one of the baby cards that I got to work on last week. This was a first for me. Right now slimline cards are very trendy! Now, I don’t consider myself a trendy person, but I like this option for another size of a card. This was a fun card to make. Awhile back I bought a slimeline die set from Heffy Doodle. But it just sat there, waiting for me to use it. To be honest, I was excited to use it but also very, very intimated. But I keep seeing them pop up all over online. Knowing that I don’t have very many baby things to create cards, I had to make what I have work for me, instead of going out and buying more things. The few stamps that I do have that could work for a baby card is this adorable wild animal set from Divinity designs. I particularly liked this little giraffe. I stamped this guy and of course he needed to be colored in with some alcohol inks. For a little extra detail I used my black enamel pen and white pen and made his eyes pop. I used the heffy doodle die to cut out on heavy white cardstock. I also die cut extra giraffe’s out with the coordinating die. I glued each one to a colored giraffe. I then placed a giraffe in each circle, but I wanted it to be fun so I placed them at different angles. I used my favorite tape runner to adhere the white cut out on to 110lbs cardstock. I added some yellow enamel dots in different spots and then stamped “Welcome little one” on a banner and popped that up off the paper.
What a whimsy, fun card to give as a baby card. This past year, I have had a new motto and that is….make what you have work for you. This is just another way to make the dies, stamps and accessories work for you and the project you need. That way you don’t HAVE to go out and buy new stuff, you GET to go out and buy new stuff! Lol.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my card. I hope you have time today to make something that you have work for you!

Paper Hugs!
