I miss you handmade card
Hi everyone, happy Friday! I got to spend some fun time today taking an Altenew Card Class and then going straight up into my stuido to make a card. This class was so inspiring! I had so much fun using embossing paste, stencils, inks and the Hug me stamp set by Altenew. Let’s get started. Here is my card.
I wanted the background to be water colored blue. This made for a great first layer to the card. I then sprayed it with water, put some ink on my glass board and then added water to the ink. I then used my paint brush to dab the color on the background. Once I achieved the look I wanted, I used my heat tool to dry it. This stencil happens to be an old diamond background that I had. In the class I was very intrigued with how she colored the embossing paste. What she did was, stamp the ink pad on glass to get the color you wanted and then added the paste to it and mixed it up. I laid the stencil on my watercolor paper and used the colored paste to dray over the top of the stencil. I let it sit and dry for a bit. I moved on to these adorable fox stamps. I stamped them in Altenew black jet ink and colored them with my alcohol markers. Once I cut them out with the matching dies, I decided to pop up the fox, so I cut some extra shapes of the fox and glued them together. This gives me some great dimension. I used a white piece of cardstock and colored it with Twisted citron distress oxide ink, cut it out using a hill die. I laid all my pieces on the card base that was now dry and started to play around with it. It needed something up in the left-hand corner, so I stamped one of the sentiments that comes with the set that says, I Miss You! Perfect! I glued it all together and then added it to a dark gray background and then to an even lighter shade of gray card base. On the inside I stamped sending you a big fox hug. I hope you enjoyed this card. This class was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I hope I have inspired you to go tint that embossing paste!
