Easy Die Cutting Techniques – Altenew class

Hi my name is Heather and I have a die cutting addiction! I LOVED this class. It was so fun to learn a few new techniques to add to my process. The card that I made above was using the Altenew die set it is called Whimsical Gardening layering die.

First I cut it out using the large die on a piece of scrap paper. I then took that and used as my stencil to create my water color to the background. I used Altenew colors and distress oxide inks to create this look. I then added a little bit of sparkly to the flowers using my Spectrum Noir sparkle pen. I then cut out another of the exact same die on my top part from my card. I then used the detail die and cut that out of matching cream colored cardstock. I lined up the images and then glued it together. One of the fun things I learned in a previous class was to cut the card base down just a bit and lined that up on the card a little off center so that the color of the card base shows. I added a few gems to it and the sweet saying that came with another Altenew stamp set. I love clean and simple cards! I love taking these classes!

Here are a few other things that I did in the class.

Using a word die and foil to create a fun look on a handmade envelope.
