I love the word whimsy! I think it describes a lot about me and my cardmaking style. I love how it just sounds fun, it makes me smile. Naturally when I found a company called Whimsy Stamps, I was on board right away! Not only does this company have adorable, fun and whimsy stamps but, they have dies to match the stamps as well. This is the only way I like to buy my stamps now, if they have the coordinating die. It just makes my life so much easier. I don’t have to fussy cut the stamps anymore. Win!
This sweet little dragon is the very first stamp that caught my eye from this stamp company. I wanted to try this company out so before purchasing any stamps, I downloaded on of their freebie digi stamps. With this digi stamp I created this adorable card.
I took this image and downloaded into my Silhouette software and made it a touch smaller. I used the print and cut feature. I cut a few extras. I then took it and colored him in using my alcohol markers. I took one of the extra cutouts of this guy and glued him to the colored image. I absolutely love this look. It gives a little dimension off the card front, without using foam dots. I also feel like it gives a little bit more sturdiness to the whole card. I had a stamp from a different stamp company called Darcie’s stamps that said, “Just roll with it”. I added that underneath this fella and left the inside blank. This gives me lots of options for different occasions to send this card. I used 110lbs cardstock to create this very simple, but adorable card. Also a favorite weight of paper that I like to use for cardmaking.
If you like this card, check out Whimsy Stamps ( link at the left of this page). The fella is still in the digital stamp freebie. He also comes in stamp form and they also sell the coordinating dies for him too.
