I love the vintage/distressed look. I enjoy making cards that have that vintage or distress feel to them. It is defiantly one of those styles that is my go to. I feel super comfortable dreaming up a vintage card. I always said I could make pretty cards, but making cute cards was hard for me. It is getting easier. But I have been practicing a lot. When I get frustrated with a cute card, I change directions and make a pretty card (or a vintage card).
These cards I made up during quarantine. I was really missing people. ESPECIALLY hugging people. (Hi, my name is Heather and I am a hugger!) So I had to send out cards that said sending hugs. I have an embossing die of bricks, lets just say it is really loved! I used a silhouette stamp of flowers and stamped that on after I had embossed the paper. This helps give the look that the stamped image is distressed. I cut out a shape with a nestable die and stamped my sentiment on it. I added 3 pearl gems to the top right. Just a simple monochromatic card that I could do a mass production of and get them sent out to my loved ones. I hope you can get into your play space and create today. Send someone a card and cheer them up!
Paper Hugs!
