Oh how I missed y’all! Life kinda got crazy here, so I had to take a little break. But I am back baby! I hope you all had a great Mother’s day. I got to spend some time all to myself this weekend, in my studio creating. It was glorious! It also was my sweet hubby and mine’s 13th Wedding Anniversary. So of course I created a card for him. It is the card that I am going to share with you today.

When I was ink blending from another card, I had all this left over distress oxide ink on my mat. So I decided to spray it with some water and put a piece of cardstock over it and rub it all around on the color. When I lifted it up, this background is what I got. What a great way to one, use up the ink and two, talk about an easy background! This stamp set is from Art Impressions, it is an older set but so much fun to work with. Use the link at the right to find this stamp set and lots of other really fun stamp sets!
I colored the image with alcohol inks and went in and added a lot of detail with colored pencils. Blending the colors until I liked how it looked. I then went in with my black and white enamel pen and added detail to the eyes and then lines on their outfits. Once I have them all colored and all the detail I want on them. I fussy cut them out and adhered them to the front of the card panel. I then mounted that onto a black piece of cardstock. I have a stamp that reads “you are my favorite dork” I thought that this not only fits the card perfectly but also mine and my hubby’s relationship! LOL. He giggled at it when he read the card. I popped up this sentiment up on foam dots and put it over the top of the couple. I then added heart gems to finish it all off. I left it blank on the inside.
I love that I don’t always have to get or make my hubs a sentimental card. We try to keep things fun and silly. I hope you enjoy this card and it inspires you to go make a silly card. Enjoy your day! See you tomorrow.

Paper hugs!
