It is almost summertime!

The official countdown has begun! I can almost feel the excitement for summer! My girls are starting to plan things that they want to do, who they want to play with, where they want to go and of course how many times we are going for ice cream! I found this cute set at a Scrapbook Store in Myrtle Beach it is from Avery Elle and it is so fun to work with! I got to be part of a card swap for one of the groups that I belong to on Facebook. It was summer themed. This set worked out so perfectly for swap. Lets talk about it!

This card is really all about coloring! The images are so cute they really make the card, but it is the details that you get to put into them, that make the card so special. I got out my alcohol markers and started coloring. I am still learning how to color. You would think that, that would be something that by now as an adult you have figured out, but nope, here I am still learning. I am by no means perfect at it, but I am getting the hang on it. You have to give yourself lots of grace when it comes to coloring. Not only did I color the images but I created the background for this card as well. I used my dioxide inks and a cloud stencil. This is also something that takes lots of practice and a lot more grace. Keep trying, the more you work on this the better you become! Once all of these were colored, I cut them out with the matching die cuts. Then it was a matter of placement. I was going for a simple look to this card. So I placed them how I saw them in my head. Then I stamped, Have a sweet day at the bottom using black dye ink. This card is so colorful and cheery and it just makes me smile…and want ice cream!

Here is an example of another card I made, but this one was made using a Heffy doodle die to make it interactive. When you pull the tab that ice cream truck moves! So fun!

I hope you get into your space and color the day away….or go get ice cream! 😁🍧🍦🍨. Either way, have a great day and happy ALMOST summer!
