Oh did I find the cutest stamps a few weeks ago! This stamp set is from Whimsy Stamps. (check out the link over on the right ) These cards were so much fun to make! I love Whimsy stamps and their unique, fun and sometimes a little sassy sets. They have everything from cute to sassy. So lets talk about this card that I made over the weekend.
Right now I am obsessed with this very simple, clean layout for my cards. I love the black matting behind the card fronts. I have been experimenting with stencils and ink blending and I am really working on my coloring. Who knew that learning that before Kindergarten would be used now so, SO many years later. LOL.
First I stamped this “hot” lady out using Lawn Fawn black dye ink. I then took out my alcohol inks and colored pencils and colored the image in. I tried to do as much detail on her as I could. I went in and added white highlight lines and darker spots using my colored pencils. I added details to her eyes and I used glossy accents to add some dimension to the wind and sweat drops. Once I was done with her I focused on the background of the card front. I got in a new stencil and ink blended my distress oxide inks. I used, Candied apple, spice marmalade and mustard seed to blend the background over the stencil. The sentiments that I used came with the stamp set. I stamped them in black Lawn Fawn dye ink. I cut the card front out using a stitched rectangle die and then cut out a piece of black cardstock to mat the card front. I placed all of these on to a A2 size card base and left it blank in the inside.

I was on such a roll with this card, that I wanted to try out other sentiments with it. So I created this card as well.

This time I used a polka dot background stencil and used the same colors as before to create it. I again colored her and tried to give her as many details as possible. Things like painted toenails and fingernails and then for fun I added some polka dots to her shirt. Instead of black I used a red piece of cardstock to create the mat for this card front. Love this sentiment as well.
I hope you got a smile out of these cards. I can’t wait to send them out to my friends! Today your task is to find something to color and add as much detail to it. You will love the results. One more thing to do…Check out the link at the right for Whimsy stamps and find a stamp set you like!
